Your haven may be located on one of the many waterfront properties in our area. We have wonderful homes along our beautiful lakes, rivers and bayous. The area also offers nostalgic garden district homes and upscale landscapes like Squire Creek, Frenchman’s Bend and Calvert Crossing.

Real estate agents and developers are pleased that the current market has not seen any real drops in sales during recent times. Many regions of the U.S. have seen their housing markets continue to struggle, but Ouachita Parish has held its own during the national housing crisis. Statistics have shown an increase in home values and the amount of homes sold. In the last year, the area has landed on several national top 10 lists including areas with the best housing market.

Employers like CenturyLink, ConAgra’s new sweet potato processing plant near Delhi and Gardner Denver’s plant expansion continue to fuel sales with their job growth. This is great news for the housing market in 2011. The 2011 forecast shows really good energy in the market and is expected to remain strong.

“We’re expecting another solid year in both existing home sales and increases in home values in Ouachita Parish. The combination of low interest rates; which range from 3.5% for 15 year loans and 4.75% for 30 year loans; 2011 could be the best year to buy a home in many years, “ said Kevin Bayles, president of the Northeast Louisiana Realtors Association.
