The Monroe Chamber is a recognized leader and leading voice for public policy issues affecting business in Ouachita Parish.
One of the Monroe Chamber’s top priorities is to impact public policy, making a positive difference for the businesses of our region. We support pro-business laws and regulations that encourage company growth and create a business friendly environment.
The Governmental Division is a strong advocate for our regional business interests in Baton Rouge and Washington, D.C. The primary focus of our work is to influence local, state, and Federal governmental activity to ensure outcomes that are aligned with the interest of our members. We clearly and assertively promote our agenda before the Monroe City Council, Ouachita Parish Police Jury, Monroe City Schools, the Louisiana Legislature, and U.S. Congress on issues that matter most to our members.
If you are concerned or interested about the future of Louisiana then it is important to stay engaged with your elected officials. Throughout the legislative session the Monroe Chamber Governmental Advocacy Committee will monitor and act on various bills if they have an impact on business. From time to time, we will ask our members to contact our legislative delegation to show support for a bill or to help us defeat a bill. Following is the contact information for each member of our Northeast Louisiana Legislative Delegation and U.S. Congressional Delegation. We encourage you to keep in touch with your legislator and to join our governmental advocacy efforts.
